The short answer
Pigment is quote-only. Its public pricing page (pigment.com/pricing) has been removed and now returns a 404; the closest official reference is Pigment's knowledge base, which says plans are built from a platform fee, a number of licenses and features, with details via sales [7]. Vendr's data — one of the larger samples we track at 117 purchases — shows a median of $74,000 per year and a range of $33,640 to $168,100, with buyers saving about 10% on average [1]. That's roughly double the Datarails and Vena medians, and about $40,000 below Anaplan's $114,609 [6].
Pigment AI pricing
Pigment markets an AI Analyst agent, a Modeler agent and an MCP server [2]. It does not publish whether these are bundled or sold as add-ons, and we found no reliable third-party number. Until we can source it, our answer is "ask, and get it on the order form."
Pigment's MCP server: read by default, write if you opt in
- Default mode is read-only: find applications and boards, understand metric structure, retrieve metric and list data [3].
- Advanced mode adds write tools — create applications, build metrics, write formulas, input data. Each user switches it on in settings; it's off by default [3].
- Permissions still rule. An AI can see a tool like
create_metricbut can't use it without the matching Pigment permission [3]. - Clients: Pigment documents Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot Studio [4]; the server launched in November 2025 [5].
For finance teams, that permission model is the right default. If you turn on advanced mode, limit it to model builders and pair it with Pigment's published Skills [3].
